Security Today magazine, a leading industry media brand providing technology, education, and solutions for security professionals, and, a preeminent editorial website for the security industry, announced the winners of the Security Today 2020 New Product of the Year Award today.

The Security Today New Product of the Year Award (NPOY) honors the outstanding product development achievements of security equipment manufacturers whose products are considered to be particularly noteworthy in their ability to improve security. In the 12th successful year of the independently-juried contest, winners were honored.

The SALTO XS4 BLE Smart Locker Lock was awarded NPOY in the Access Control Devices/Peripherals–Wireless category. The SALTO XS4 BLE Smart Locker Lock is the perfect wireless access control solution to effectively extend real-time, online, and mobile-enabled smart keyless access for lockers, cabinets, cupboards, boxes, and showcases where access control and full audit trailing are required. The XS4 BLE Smart Locker Lock has mobile technology onboard (BLE & NFC) plus wireless communication capabilities that shows the status of every locker at any moment, the ability for remote openings, and the ability to prohibit access as needed. Digital key technology and mobile opening capability via BLE or NFC provides users with a simple and intuitive interface which improves the user experience.

“SALTO has long been an innovator in the access control industry and we are continuously enhancing our electronic locking solutions,” said SALTO Systems North America Marketing Director Steve Burk. “With new products like the SALTO XS4 BLE Smart Locker Lock, we deliver access control to areas far beyond what has traditionally been expected. We are grateful to Security Today and their team of independent judges for recognizing our contributions to the access control industry.”

Security Today NPOY Winners will receive an award, will be featured on the website, and will be highlighted in the November/December 2020 issue of Security Today magazine.

“New products and technologies are the backbone of the security industry; however, with the pandemic affecting everyone these days, businesses have been in survival mode,” said Ralph C. Jensen, editor in chief of Security Today magazine. “The products we have seen entered in this year's competition are the best of the best. Manufacturers are once again stepping forward with solutions that will impact end-users’ safety and security. I’m pleased to see so many entries from numerous manufacturers. It is comforting to know that technology and solutions never take a leave of absence from security concerns.”
